It’s almost that time of the year! As we get closer to the 4th of July and celebrate our independence, we are all getting ready for our 4th of July celebrations and activities. From BBQ’s to fireworks and parades, everybody comes together to share and celebrate on the joyous day. There is always a lot that we can do but the big question is where do we go to celebrate? We have put together a list of different activities and celebrations for you to choose from for the 4th of July. We hope you enjoy your Independence Day!

 

Fourth of July Parade

A staple for any town for the 4th of July, the annual Fort Collins 4th of July Parade is guaranteed to put a smile and your family’s face with displays of patriotism. Starting at 10 AM, the parade will begin on Jackson Avenue this year. After the parade, you can continue enjoying the day with your family as the city and other organizations host continued celebration throughout the day. A schedule of celebrations for the day can be found on the FCGov website.

 

FireKracker 5k
Now on it’s 18th year, the FireKracker 5k is perfect for anyone who wants to start their day off healthy. The first race of the day, the Citizen’s 5k, begins at 7:30 AM. The FireKracker 5k will start at City Park and continues through 9:30 AM. Other races included are the Elite 5k, a Kid’s Race (ages 5 to 12) and great awards like a $3500 cash purse. Whether you’re a walker, jogger, or runner, you can register on the website.

 

Stars & Stripes Tournament

If you’re a golf player then this is the event for you. Starting at 7:30 AM, City Park Nine Golf Course will be hosting a 4th of July tournament for teams of 2. Registration for the event is only $50 and you’ll be able to complete for prizes. Also included in the registration fee, you’ll be able to feast on food and drinks after the event!

 

Old Fashioned Fourth of July
Located at the Avery House lawn, Poudre Landmarks Foundation will be throwing an old fashioned celebration. Beginning at 10 AM and ending at 2 PM, parade-goers will have somewhere to go right after the parade and continue having fun. There will be multiple festivities such as live music, Victorian crafts, games and much more! Local food trucks Mac’NThe Rollin’ Stone Wood Fired Pizzeria, and Trattoria Oreganata will be there to satisfy your cravings!

 

Live Music at City Park

This is the time to start getting ready to see this year’s fireworks! Before the fireworks begin and after the parade, City Park is the place to be as it starts at 4:15 and goes until 9:15 for live music and continued festivities. Before the Fort Collins fireworks, the Fort Collins Symphony will begin playing at 8:15 PM. So grab your chairs and blankets and get ready for the fireworks.

 

Fireworks Celebration

One of the best fireworks displays in Colorado, the fireworks will begin at 9:35 PM. Stick around City Park for the amazing display!

 

Timnath 4th of July Celebration

Beginning at 5 PM, Timnath will be hosting a 4th of July celebration at the Timnath Reservoir. The event includes live music, family friendly activities, local food trucks and a firework display at the end to top it off. Bands such as Larry & the Pour BoysThunder and Rain and Hot Tomatoes will be playing during the celebration. Kids will have a blast as they play through obstacle courses, in the bouncy house, a rock climbing wall and face painting as well. Some of the best food trucks we’ve all seen around town will be there, including Austin TacoCorndoggiesElli’s DeliMile High Lobster ShackRevolution Artisan PopsBIGS Meat Wagon and Pizza Casbah. Everything leads up to the firework show that begins at 9:30 PM.

 

 

Loveland 4th of July Celebration

Beginning at 10 AM, this is an all day celebration which starts off with a flag raising ceremony. The celebrations take place at North Lake Park and includes a car show that is hosted by the Veteran Motor Car Club of America. Festivities throughout the day will include numerous food vendors and game booths that are sponsored by nonprofit organizations. Live music will be brought to you by the Loveland Concert Band. Make sure to stick around as the fireworks will begin approximately at 9:17 PM.

 

Windsor Boardwalk Park 4th of July Celebration

Kicking the day off early, the 4th of July celebration in Windsor will start with a Four-Legged Run at 8 AM. It is a dog friendly race around Windsor Lake and will be one lap. After the race, you will be able to take home a t-shirt and winning prizes. Registration can be done for $20 at the Community Recreation Center or on the day of the event starting at 7 AM. Stick around the lake afterwards for local food trucks. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 PM!
