The annual rivalry football game between CSU and the University of Colorado will air on ESPN this fall.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown will be played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2.
CU is designated as the home team and the announcement of the time and television was made Wednesday by the Pac-12 Conference.
The game is the season opener for both teams. Seven of Colorado State University’s games in 2016 will be nationally televised.
The teams have split the last four meetings, with CU winning last year and the teams alternating wins. Fans can purchase tickets now for the game as part of a seven-game season ticket package or part of a three-game mini plan. Single-game tickets for the Showdown go on sale June 14. Tickets can be purchased online at CSURams.com/tickets, by calling 800-491-7267 or by visiting the McGraw Athletic Center ticket office.
