“Smile with LAY’S”

Lay’s is on a mission in 2018 to spread smiles across the nation. The company has released newly designed bags that feature a large and happy smile in hopes of creating more smiling throughout the country. The new design reflects Lay’s newest campaign for 2018 called “Smile with Lay’s”.

Any time one of the new specially designed bags are purchased, a donation is made to Operation Smile. Operation Smile is an international charity that helps to improve the lives of young adults and children who suffer from cleft conditions. The organization is dedicated to improving the health of those affected by providing access to safe surgical care.

The campaign has support from the Operation Smile ambassador, musician and actress Jordin Sparks. The company also engaged with fans and held a three day pop up in Times Square from Feb. 8-10 showing people the power of a smile.

“Lay’s wants to remind everyone that their smiles can make a difference in other people’s lives,” said Frito Lay senior director of marketing, Sarah Guzman. “As a brand that has been celebrating joy for more than 75 years, our ‘Smile with Lay’s’ campaign features a partnership with Operation Smile so that each time someone gets a Lay’s Smile bag, they also help to give a smile to a child in need.”

Lay’s conducted a survey recently that found most Americans believe smiling can make a positive difference in their lives and in the lives of others. 95% of people agreed that they would smile more if they knew it would make someone else’s day better and 9 out of 10 people have said it make them happy to see other people smiling.

“Our brain mimics emotions we see in others, allowing us to experience what they are feeling so we can better respond,” said Shawn AchorNew York Times bestselling author of The Happiness Advantage. “Since smiles are contagious, we need to make a conscious effort to smile more ourselves so that we can start creating a positive ripple effect with others. Research in my new book Big Potential shows the power of this ‘virtuous cycle’ – when you smile, it spreads to those around you, and then comes full circle back to you. One simple smile shows how connected we are to each other.”

The newly designed bags hit stores this past week on February 12th and will be available through April 7th. A donation up to $1 million will be made to Operation Smile for every bag purchased. Help Lay’s in supporting their mission to spread smiles throughout the country and to reach their goal of a $1 million donation. More information for the campaign can be found at www.Lays.com.
