Veterans Day is only two days away now. As such, we have put together a list of activities and discounts going on over the next few days in honor of our U.S. veterans.

Veterans Day Mass

There will be a Veterans Day Mass tomorrow morning, beginning at 9:30 am, at the Saint Joseph Catholic School (300 W. Mountains Ave.) paying tribute to US Veterans who have and are currently serving. Following the Mass, there will be a reception in the church basement, also known as Meredith Hall. All veterans are encourages to dress in uniform and to meet outside the building at 9:15 am before an Honor Guard escorts them inside.

Poker Tournament

Hosted by and benefiting the Veterans to Veterans Alliance, the Underwater High Plains Scuba Center will be having a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament (115 W. Harvard St). The tournament begins at 4:00 pm and will conclude at 6:00 pm. They will also be hosting a tournament Sunday, November 12 beginning at 9:00 am and concluding 4:00 pm. Entry for the tournament is only $20 and prizes are awarded to the 1st to 4th place winners. There will also be a silent auction.

Ceremony

Beginning at 10:00 am, the CSU Air Force ROTC will be hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at The Veterans Plaza. The plaza is located at Spring Canyon Community Park, west of Taft Hill on Horsetooth Road.

 

Breakfast

There will be a Veterans Day Breakfast at Fort Collins Senior Center (1200 Raintree Drive) beginning at 7:00 am and concluding at 10:00 am. Along with food, there will of course be songs and patriotism of course.

Deals for veterans and active duty personnel

A number of businesses around Fort Collins/Northern Colorado will be taking part in several different deals just for the Veterans. We’re even having a sale Saturday in all of our stores. Saturday only, anyone can but two Ol’ Glory Energy Drinks for only 99 cents. There’s no other deal like it. The purchase is for any and all customers of Schraders and a portion of our sales are used to benefit and support Operation Homefront.

  • Chilson Recreation Center, Loveland: Free admission
  • Bed Bath & Beyond: 25 percent off for active duty or retired veterans and veterans’ spouses, Thursday through Sunday. Military ID required. In-store only.
  • Rodizio Grill: One veteran eats free with the purchase of each adult Full Rodizio. 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Military ID or proof of service required.
  •  Anheuser-Busch Brewery Biergarten: From Friday through Sunday, veterans, active-duty members of the military, police officers, firefighters and first responders will receive 25 percent off all items in the gift shop and a complimentary tour sampling upgrade. The upgrade to a full beer on the tour includes an additional complimentary beer in the biergarten.
  • Carrabba’s: Free appetizer for active military personnel and veterans Saturday with purchase of an entree and Coca-Cola beverage. Mention offer to redeem.
  • Denny’s: Free build-your-own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon Saturday at participating locations for inactive and active military personnel with valid ID.
  • LaMar’s Donuts: Free doughnut and 12-ounce coffee for veterans and active duty personnel.
  • Zoës Kitchen: Free entree to all veterans and active members of the military. Must present military ID at checkout.
  • Famous Dave’s BBQ: Free Georgia Chopped Pork Sandwich & Side.
  • Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill: Free meal from a special menu Saturday at any of the nearly 1,800 locations.
  • Bar Louie: Free flatbread or burger Saturday. Visit location for more details.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings: Free small order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries.
  • Chili’s: Free meal from a special menu.
  • Chuck E. Cheese: Free personal one-topping pizza to veterans, active duty personnel and eligible dependents with military ID, proof of service and promo code 5500. The chain also has daily military discounts.
  • Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Veterans get a free sandwich, savory side and a Big Yellow Cup from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
  • Dunkin’ Donuts: Free doughnut of choice, while supplies last.
  • Grimaldi’s Pizzeria: 15 percent discount for veterans.
  • Little Caesars: Free Hot-N-Ready lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • LongHorn Steakhouse: Free appetizer or dessert. Guests dining with veterans will receive 10 percent off their meals.
  • Olive Garden: Free meal from a select menu.
  • Panera Bread: Free breakfast sandwiches until 10 a.m. Saturday at participating locations. After 10 a.m., military members get a coupon for a free pastry to use on a future visit.
  • Perkins: Free Magnificent Seven meal.
  • Red Lobster: Free appetizer or dessert.
  • Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with bottomless fries.
  • Starbucks: Free tall coffee for any veteran, active duty military and military spouse Saturday.
  • Texas Roadhouse: Free meal from a special menu and choice of non-alcoholic drink.
  • Village Inn: Free “INN-Credible V.I.B.” breakfast.
