It’s beginning to a lot like Christmas. Well…. sort of. While we may not have any snow on the ground to add to our Christmas spirits, there is one thing we do have plenty of and we love it – Christmas lights! Annual displays such as the Downtown Fort Collins street lights have been lighting up the night for a few weeks now. Many neighborhood houses have put up exemplary displays with their colorful lights and numerous Santa, Grinch or reindeer displays.
We’re here to share with you some of the best displays to check out for the Holiday season! We hope you’re as excited as we are.
Old Town Holiday Lights
An annual feat of Old Town, the Old Town lights have been lit up for a number of weeks now as they flipped the switch on November 3rd. If you don’t frequent Old Town, we urge you to reconsider this time of year in the evening. The lights brighten up the streets, sidewalks and alleyways.
The beautiful display runs seven blocks hanging off the Old Town trees. The lights run down College Ave from Laporte Ave and down south all the way to Mountain Ave. If you haven’t seen them yet, head into downtown soon for a bright and cheerful Old Town!
Anheuser Busch Brewery Lights
The season kicked off at the annual Anheuser Busch Brewery Lights on November 16th this year with a lighting ceremony that included the former Denver Bronco player Ed McCaffrey. This sight is not like the others with the many offers that are available including the amazing light display itself, fire pits, roasted s’mores and a tree maze. There is an added bonus this year with the addition of a family area with an inflatable snowman and train rides for only $1.
More lights have been added to the brewery this year and there is now a digital light show that is synchronized to the music. The light display is available for viewing between 5 – 9PM until Dec 30 every weekend including Thursday.
Those who are 21 and over also receive a wristband that is good for four 6 oz. cups of beer. Hot cocoa is available for all guests and their is also family packs of s’mores available for just $10.
Gardens on Spring Creek Holiday Lights
The holiday lights at the Gardens on Spring Creek is one of the best annual Northern Colorado traditions. The lights were turned on just a week ago and will stay lit until January 7th. That gives you plenty of time to check one of the best holiday light displays around! You can see the lights every night between the hours of 5-9PM. That even includes Christmas Eve & Day as well as New Year’s Eve & Day.
It’s the perfect place to bring the family for some Christmas spirit. The gardens are covered by thousands and thousands of LED lights, also creating such displays as a blue LED pond, cornfields, flower beds and a forest filled with dinosaurs. Need more reason to go? The weekends include visits with Santa, holiday music, seasonal crafts and drinks to keep you warm.
The Nighlights Tree can be found in the downtown of Fort Collins outside the First Presbyterian Church – 531 S. College Ave. The tree is covered in bright blue lights and is lit up nightly. The lights were first turned on on December 1st and serves as a way to help and recognize children who have been victims of abuse. A display for a good cause and put on by Realities for Children, all donations help children who are victims of abuse. This year’s goal is $150,000.
The city is filled with gorgeous places and houses lit up for the Christmas season. We hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the Christmas displays that Fort Collins has to offer to the public.
