SOC Grand Prix 2017: What to Know

SOC Grand Prix fundraiser
SOC Grand Prix: 2016

We’re only 3 short days away from our annual SOC Grand Prix! We can feel the excitement oozing through our triking veins!

The SOC Grand Prix began 5 years ago when brother Kyle and Eric Schrader thought of the idea as a way to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Schrader Oil. What a way to celebrate the 75th year in business! As a fundraising event for Junior Achievement, the SOC Grand Prix has been able to raise funds for Junior Achievement every year, along with the in-store fundraiser we run as well.

Since the beginning, the Grand Prix has stayed the same for the most part with one thing that has continuously changed – the trikes. With the exception of 2016 and this year, the looks have the trikes have changed significantly. Initially starting off with your classic low tricycle back in 2013, we are now rocking the much taller adult trikes that have been custom built.

We were able to see all of the trikes come out last year as the 2016 trikes couldn’t handle the track as the seats began to collapse on the riders. While not necessarily what one wants to see, we did get some laughs and a throwback to each year. But never fear, this year’s trikes are much stronger and will be able to take on the track no problem. The real question here – can you handle the track?

We hope to see you at the races this coming Saturday! Watch as teams try to take down three year reigning champions MKO Financial!

Here are a few things to know before coming out this Saturday.
